supermodel* is the brainchild of frankie beanie, a virginia-born, los angeles-based artist and producer. raised in suburban virginia, frankie spent his early years thrashing in east coast punk bands before moving to liverpool at 18 to immerse himself in the uk’s indie and dance culture. now based in la, his music is the culmination of a life spent absorbing and synthesizing a world of influences: a love of hip-hop, an obsession with the beastie boys, and an instinctive feel for raw, playful experimentation.

at its core, supermodel* is about instinct, irreverence, and breaking his own rules. “don’t try and be cool. steal everything. Don’t overthink. always lowercase,” he says of the project’s ethos. “supermodel* has to feel stolen, stupid, instinctive, and raw—like it’s breaking its own logic.” this rejection of pretense defines his sound and visuals, creating a world that feels as bold and unpredictable as it is meticulously crafted.

since his debut, supermodel* has carved out a distinct identity with a run of genre-blurring singles and striking, reference-rich visuals. from the hypnotic, dance-inflected “i used to live in england”—layered with wry nods to uk culture and set against a playful 16mm homage to fatboy slim—to the warped, confident swagger of “no future,” where beastie boys-inspired production collides with diy visual craft influenced by jamiroquai’s “virtual insanity,” each release has revealed a new facet of his vision.
