Blood and Sun is dark folk written by Luke Tromiczak and performed by a rotating group of musicians from across the United States. Ritualistic, powerful, and profound—Blood and Sun weaves traditional folk sorrow with North American vastness, spiritual intensity, and a love of mytho-poetic realms. They channel a form of dark-folk that requires no façade, only voice, strings, the percussive heart, and the gravity of existence. Every song is a spell carried by a deep voice and raw presence. Their performances are like a bonfire: Warming, challenging, clarifying.

Formed in 2011, the group has received international praise for its dark, brooding, gothic songwriting. Blood and Sun thematically wrestles with personal tribulations and drive intertwined with metaphysical and pagan currents, delivering soaring and haunting melodies extolling the heroism and tragedy of life, its joyous excess and the vertigo of fate.

Although the music has an ancient sound, and nostalgia for the arcane, the band does not align itself with hateful rhetoric or ideologues and is not political in nature. Blood and Sun hopes for a world that is empowering to all of its listeners. We strive for a re-sacralization of the world that adds to the mystery and awe in life: A world of meaning and purpose felt and shared.

This tour welcomes “Aion’s Light”, Blood and Sun’s third full-length album, bringing Luke’s vision of American neofolk back to its rawest foundations while pushing further into the borderlands between song, spell, and memory.

The album was recorded entirely on the same Tascam 414 four-track cassette portastudio used for Blood and Sun’s earliest demo. Songs were written and tracked in the order they appear, effects were committed to tape, and each bounced-down instrument narrowed the path ahead. Every decision carried weight; raw instinct became part of the final form.

Musically, “Aion’s Light” stands somewhere between 70s folk songcraft, underground black metal spirit, and the eerie atmospheres of B-movie horror soundtracks. Echoes of Scott Walker, Of the Wand and the Moon, Woven Hand, Swans, Dave Bixby, Exuma, Leonard Cohen, and Storm can be felt throughout. Guitar chords are hammered into place as a foundation for bass, keyboards, percussion, and voice; sparse arrangements gather weight through repetition, atmosphere, and the grain of the recording itself.

For this 2026 European tour Blood and Sun is Luke Tromiczak is joined by long friends Erik Wivinus, Liliian Liu, and Sawyer Gebauer.

The tour also celebrates the release of Temple Hymns Volume Two, a collaborative EP between Society of the Silver Cross and Blood and Sun. Recorded at Temple of the Trees Studio in Seattle and Dusk Century. This ep was produced by Society of the Silver Cross.

Society of the Silver Cross are from Seattle, Washington. Their music is dark, slow, and cinematic, gothic and bombastic in equal measure. Rooted equally in the traditions of India and the darker edges of American folk. Their chant-like vocals move between melody and ritual,

alongside 12-string acoustic guitar, harmonium, B3 organ, Shahi Baaja, rare synthesizers, and tom-centric drum patterns that anchor the whole thing in something primal.

Rolling Stone, SPIN, UNCUT, Metal Injection, and Brooklyn Vegan have all written about them. Bizarro.fm called them "one of the most exceptional bands in the Gothic movement worldwide." The 405 called their debut "one of the year's most unique and compelling debuts." Their 2024 album Festival of Invocations explores life, death, and beauty. Their melodies, as one critic put it, are an ode to hypnosis.
